Superheroes — printable activity pack
No licensed characters anywhere in it, which is deliberate. The coloring page is a big star to fill in however your child likes rather than a studio's character, and the word lists are about what a hero does rather than who a hero is. Capes, powers and saving the day, for kids who would rather draw than sit still.
Four levels of the same theme — ages 3–5, 6–8, 9–12 and a harder grown-up level — so a mixed-age class or family works on the same puzzles, each at their own level. 11 pages, US Letter PDF, ready to print at home or in a classroom.
One-time payment of US$4 plus any applicable tax. UK & EU/EEA consumers: 14-day right to cancel · Refund & cancellation policy
Pay as a guest — no account needed. You get the Superheroes pack at the level you pick, as a PDF, straight after checkout, and you can print it as often as you like for your own family or class.
Three pages from this pack

Rendered from the Superheroes PDF itself, at ages 6–8. The puzzles are generated, so your copy’s grids and maze won’t be these exact ones.
Why there isn't a single named hero in it
Every word here is about the job — RESCUE, SHIELD, GUARDIAN, FORCEFIELD — and not one of them belongs to anybody. Partly that's a licensing decision, but it makes for the better activity: a child coloring a blank star invents an emblem, where a printed character only ever gets colored in wrong. At ages 3–5 the whole list is CAPE, ZAP, FLY, MASK, HERO and POW, three and four letters and nothing longer, because that is the level that wants to finish. Mid-August is when it comes round, which is the tail of the northern holidays and mid-term in Australia.

The answer key solves the sudoku, the word search, the word scramble and the crossword. The maze doesn’t have an answer — a maze doesn’t need one.
The words your child will be hunting for
These are the words each level’s puzzles are built from: the word search grid is filled with them and prints them under it as the list to find, the scramble jumbles up to seven of them one per line, and the crossword interlocks as many as will fit. Same theme at every level, different words — that’s what makes a mixed-age table work.
The grown-up level isn’t written separately: it’s the longest words from the 6–8 and 9–12 lists, on a bigger grid and a harder sudoku.
