For the fortnight when term has stopped and nothing has started
The problem this one solves is the gap: school has finished, the relatives haven't arrived, and there is a great deal of afternoon. Fifteen pages spreads across most of it. Save the color-by-number for the worst of it — it's the only page in the pack that wants a full tin of pencils rather than one. GINGERBREAD and MISTLETOE are the long ones at the top level, and MISTLETOE in particular is a word most children have heard every December and never once seen written down.

The words your child will be hunting for
These are the words each level’s puzzles are built from: the word search grid is filled with them and prints them under it as the list to find, the scramble jumbles up to seven of them one per line, and the crossword interlocks as many as will fit. Same theme at every level, different words — that’s what makes a mixed-age table work.
The grown-up level isn’t written separately: it’s the longest words from the 6–8 and 9–12 lists, on a bigger grid and a harder sudoku.
